Do the waves of life catch up with you from time to time? The low tides and the high tides are one way to describe our daily, weekly, yearly struggles. But how do you know which tide you’re in?
The tide is related to the shift of the moon and I believe the moon and stars are lining up for change in my life.
I think of low tide as meaning you’re at a calm stage. Low stress, low anxiety, low list of responsibilities.
I think of high tide as quite the opposite, a rush of the unknown, hard to keep your head above water, many things going on that you must be queen of multi-tasking or you’ll never get anywhere. A feeling like you could even drown.
On a recent girls beach trip to Ft. Walton Beach Florida we went to a favorite shop we’ve visited in the past called Artesano. Artesano is filled with custom hand made art from local makers who consign in the shop. On this trip I knew I wanted a piece but went back and forth between two pieces. One was a ring with words printed on it, straight out of a book print. The other a wave. Both speaking to me in different ways. At time for my final decision, I went with the wave. I’ve been experiencing waves of emotions over these past couple of years, lots of ups and downs, some very, very low tides and some extremely horrifying high tides. The one thing that waves teach you is that they change, over a course of 6-7 hours the tide can go from low to high, well that’s exactly how our lives work, we have ups and downs. Change is hard, nerve racking but on the flip side it’s needed, beautiful. A wave is one of those reminders that things can come crashing down around you but be calm and realize it’s just temporary, the tide will change and so can you!
I’ve kept the ring in it’s box since the trip, even looked at it a couple of times and thought not yet. Today for whatever reason was the day. I took it out of the box and began to wear it. It brought such a smile to my face. It feels like it’s time, it’s feels like I’m riding a wave of happy changes, I’m very excited and ready.
